Posting

Recently, I’ve pulled out my great-grandparent’s photos given to me some years ago.

Throughout the hurricane seasons, they’ve been protected in photo boxes, those boxes in plastic totes, and those totes stored in my closet. They were cumbersome to take in and out, and with my full-time job, I just didn’t have the time to dedicate to them.

Now, I have made it a point to designate a few hours each weekend and some time each evening to ensure the pictures are correctly labeled, scanned, and backed up. While doing so, I have been posting them on my social media pages for my family, friends, and followers to enjoy. Some of which my family hadn’t seen in years or at all.

It’s been surprising for me as well. Not having eyes on them in years, I’ve noticed new things or have been able to look at them with a more experienced eye.

I have also purchased some acid-free sleeves and archival pens to take better care of them. While I do not know who wishes to take on my Family Historian job in the future, I hope to protect them as best I can while I am the keeper.

In the coming days, I will blog some of my posts here for those who do not follow me on social media. I hope you will like going down memory lane as much as I do. And, as always, reach out to me for any advice, assistance with a branch, or help building your tree. I am happy to help!

Marlee
